EXPERIENCE
As Principal, Gary is responsible for a number of different aspects of the firm including strategic growth, business development, and risk management. He is also Chief Technical Officer, helping to ensure the firm is providing excellent quality and value for clients. Gary serves as Project Manager for many of the firm's projects, and provides high-level oversight and quality reviews for a wide variety of projects.
Gary started his career designing long-span and complex bridges on projects throughout the United States, developing skills in managing both projects and people along the way. One of Compass' co-founders, he previously served as Transportation Division Director of a 400-person regional firm, and has managed projects up to $200 million construction value. He excels at projects with complex geometry, phased construction, and innovative construction techniques.
Gary and his wife, Noel, are the parents of three teenagers. Gary enjoys live music, golf and skiing. Most often, though, he can be found supporting his family at marching band and orchestra events, dance competitions, and lacrosse and field hockey games.
