EXPERIENCE
As the firm’s Right-of-Way Specialist, Adam’s responsibilities at Compass include right-of-way design, right-of-way plan preparation, field surveying data processing, and establishing existing right-of-way and property line. He has also played a prominent role in the development of in-house CAD standards, establishing best practices, and overseeing CAD training programs. This has included assisting in the development of industry practices for producing right of way plans in OpenRoads Designer.
Prior to joining Compass, Adam served as a structural engineer and right-of-way designer for two mid-size regional firms where he worked on a variety of bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects, safety design projects, and corridor improvement projects. He was a bridge engineer for the OBPP task order contract which involved preliminary engineering, preliminary hydraulics, and design-build scope preparation for the replacement of 58 bridges around Ohio. His right-of-way design experience includes proposed right-of-way design, plan preparation, writing legal descriptions, researching records, and existing right-of-way plans of appropriate agencies.
Outside of work, he is deeply passionate about promoting mental health awareness, writing, and home and garden projects. Adam has also participated in multiple DEIB events focusing on the LGBTQ+ community and in panel discussions focused on the shared and contrasting experience of members of the LGBTQ+ community and persons of color.
